How it started
We knew it could be done better
Stacey and Caylee Ward are the fifth generation of a family that has run its own businesses, and Caylee was born and raised here. You will not reach a call center. You will know who is shopping for your home, who you are speaking to, and who arrives at the door.
That familiarity is the whole service. We learn your preferences, answer personally, and treat your home with the discretion you would expect of private staff.
St. Pete Shopping Company began during the COVID pandemic, when Stacey and Caylee were working as essential gig shoppers on the national delivery apps. While most people stayed home, they were in local stores every day, navigating supply shortages and constantly changing needs. They saw firsthand where the big platforms fell short: unclear communication, inconsistent shoppers, and no real care for the person on the other end of the order.
One day, after yet another order the apps had made harder than it needed to be, Caylee turned to her mother and said, "Mom, we can do it better." Caylee was right. In July 2022 they launched St. Pete Shopping Company, a locally owned service built on everything the apps were missing: thoughtful shopping, clear communication, and dependable follow-through from two people clients know by name.
What began as a way to help neighbors has grown into a trusted concierge service for households across St. Petersburg and the beaches, and for visitors arriving to a rental or seasonal home. The same two people have handled every single order since 2022.

Meet the founders
Stacey Ward
Stacey began personal shopping in March 2020, after spending ten years running a local marketing business. She handles most orders and is the primary point of contact for most clients.
Beyond the business, she cultivates relationships with other local business owners and nonprofits, and volunteers her time with Hank's Bark Box, Suncoast Voices for Children, and Alpha House of Pinellas County.
Caylee Ward
Caylee is an Electrical Engineering student at the University of South Florida in Tampa and works at a local construction and engineering company. She brings technical expertise to the business, managing app updates, coordinating behind-the-scenes logistics, and making sure systems run smoothly.
Beyond her work here, Caylee gives back to her community as treasurer of the IEEE USF chapter, continuing the family tradition of service and leadership.

A legacy of family-run businesses
St. Pete Shopping Company did not begin in 2022. This female-owned, women-run business runs on five generations of family enterprise, each built on the same values of care, communication, and showing up for people by name.

Chris & Velma
Stacey's great-grandparents owned a large automotive supply company, where her grandparents Curt and Anna met and both worked.

Curt & Anna
When Chris and Velma retired and became snowbirds, Curt and Anna started their own printing and marketing company, working with local businesses.

Marcia & Stacey
Marcia designed dried floral arrangements for local craft fairs, and a young Stacey sold handmade scrunchies beside her. Later they opened an antiques business together, with Caylee at trade shows and auctions from preschool on.

Stacey started and ran a marketing business while caring for Marcia through a cancer diagnosis, with Caylee alongside her at networking events and volunteering.

Volunteering In the community
The organizations we show up for
Running a local business in St. Petersburg means working alongside the people doing hard work around you. When a local business has surplus inventory to give, the goods are theirs. Getting them where they need to go is the part we can cover, so we donate our delivery services and the delivery is on us.
Hank's Bark Box
A free pet food pantry in St. Petersburg. When local businesses have surplus pet food and supplies to donate, we coordinate the pickup and deliver it, free of charge. Learn more about Hank's Bark Box on their website or Facebook page.
Suncoast Voices for Children
Provides for children in foster care across Pinellas and Pasco counties. We deliver surplus business donations to them, and the Holiday Care Challenge is how we invite the community to help us support them. Instead of a white elephant exchange at your holiday party, host a donation drive for the daily essentials those children need.
